Online Nutrition Courses
Online nutrition courses can help you discover the
right way to eat and the healthiest way to feed your family.
If you choose an accredited course you may even be able
to begin a new career helping others make healthy nutritional choices,
by preparing you to become a licensed counselor.
Some online courses offer certificates that will allow
you to become a nutritional counselor - others are strictly for your own
personal growth. Be sure to check carefully to makes sure the nutrition
courses offered will help you meet your specific goals.
Learning online allows you to study at your own pace,
and also gives you access to excellent nutrition courses from other countries,
where there may be more interest and research in good nutrition. One such
course is The Healthy
Eating Club nutrition course. The HEC website is based in Australia,
and offers on-line course modules for the general public in nutrition.
Club members have access to interactive course modules which help increase
understanding in the principles of good nutrition, healthy eating and
wellness.
A British school, The
Kevala Centre, offers a foundational course for Nutritional Advisors,
and has more advanced courses under development.
A bit closer to home, (for Americans at least), state-accredited nutrition
courses are also available. One online source of nutritional education
is The Blue Heron Academy,
which offers eLearning classes that could lead to a career as a certified
natural healthcare practitioner. These courses could also give you the
information you need to bring up healthy children, and they offer online
courses in holistic health, herbal medicine, and fitness training.
The Internet offers the opportunity to find information about healthy
cooking and nutrition from one of the nation's oldest natural health distance-learning
institutions - Clayton
College of Natural Health. Use the information given for free in their
Holistic Kitchen
site, or sign up for a full college course in Naturopathy.
No matter what goal you have in mind, be sure to do your research before
spending money on any online course. Some are state-accredited, which
will give you college credits that you may be able to use towards a degree.
Others offer certification. Your own state or local government may or
may not accept these certifications if you decide to become a licenses
nutritional therapist - be sure to check.
If you just need more information so you can make healthy cooking choices
for your family, you may want to contact former students to see if they
were happy with the information and service they received. Most schools
are happy to provide names, if the students have given permission.
